As we close out this year, I wanted to share a video made by one of our students, Caitlin.  Caitlin was taking a speech class and had to give a recorded ‘how-to’ demonstration speech.  She chose to do one on ‘The Physics of Self-Defense’, emphasizing Aikido principles and recruiting some ‘assistants’ from the dojo.  Now before you view the video, let me note that the speech is not recorded in a fashion that would normally be used for an informative presentation exactly.  Part of the requirements for the class were that the speech be presented in front of a live audience and that the instructor be able to view the audience as well as the presentation (also that it couldn’t be edited…), so the viewpoint is from off to the side; a little unusual.  However, her presentation was quite good… and most folks like seeing me get thrown around, so

Good, actual, factual points in there, folks.  Let’s remember some of these in the new year!

Let’s also remember that this coming Monday, Jan. 2, 2017(!) will be the first class of the New Year!  Don’t stay away.
