Mizu no Kokoro will have an open house on Saturday, January 6th (updated). We will have demonstrations and a free, open Aikido class for any participants (with visiting Aikidoka from other schools in the area as well – everyone is invited). We will also have a demonstration from Tora no Tsume, Shin Shin Ryu Iaijutsu, who share our facility. This is a chance for beginners and anyone interested, to check out our new space, learn about Aikido and our other class offerings (women’s self-defense, Aikido for Law Enforcement Tactical Training, kids classes, etc.). For you other Aikidoka out there, please come help us celebrate the new space and enjoy the Aikido fellowship!

The dojo will be open at 5:30pm. Class will begin at 6:30 and run to around 7:30. Tora no Tsume will demonstrate their art sometime in there (details to follow).

If you’re a beginner and want to try a class, please wear loose clothing (sweatpants or other workout long pants are suggested… it may save a little rubbing on your knees). And don’t be intimidated by more experienced Aikidoka on the mat. One of the best things about the practice of Aikido is the willingness of the advanced practitioners to be patient and helpful… it’s the nature of the Art of Peace and Harmony!

If you just want to come watch, there is an area for visitors where you can watch and time for questions afterward.
